Making and Bottling of Grathawai Preserves
Every jar of Grathawai Homestead Preserves is made, cooked and bottled by me using quality seasonal produce. By making preserves in small batches, I can focus on flavour, quality and the little details that make homemade preserves so special.
Why Choose Grathawai Homestead Preserves?
When you purchase from Grathawai Homestead, you're supporting a small boutique business where every preserve is made by me, from start to finish. I carefully select quality seasonal produce and make each batch by hand, using traditional methods and plenty of patience.
Many of my preserves have been recognised with awards, but what matters most to me is creating products that taste homemade, are packed with flavour, and can be shared with family and friends.
Every jar reflects my passion for preserving and my commitment to quality, ensuring you receive a product that has been crafted with care, not mass-produced in a factory.

MY STORY
Coming from a proud Polish heritage, food has always been at the heart of my family. My grandparents loved growing their own fruit and vegetables, and seasonal cooking was simply a way of life. That love of homegrown produce — and the joy of turning it into something delicious — has stayed with me ever since.
The kitchen has always been my comfort zone. Whether I’m whipping up a lemon tart or stirring a bubbling pot of ripe apricots ready for bottling, cooking brings me a sense of grounding and creativity. Over the years, I began preserving fruit and vegetables not only for my family, but also to share with friends. With their encouragement (and willingness to accept a free jar of jam in exchange for honest feedback!), I took a leap and entered the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
What started as a small test of confidence became something truly incredible. I was humbled to win multiple awards in my first year. The following year, I entered as many categories as I could manage — and ended up being named the Overall Preserve Winner, with one of my recipes published in Women’s Weekly. The year after that, I was invited to cook in the Women’s Weekly Test Kitchen — a surreal and memorable experience.
Many of my award‑winning preserves are available on my website, including favourites such as Tomato Kasundi, Raspberry Jam, Apricot Jam, Plum Jam, and Quince Jelly, just to name a few.
Like my grandmothers before me, I love using seasonal produce and transforming it into little jars of goodness that can be enjoyed all year round. I hope you find as much joy in eating these preserves as I do in making them.
The secret ingredient in every jar is LOVE.
